Kate Smith
A comedic performer, writer and creative producer whose arts practice has evolved from stand-up to playwriting, to cross-sector community arts practice to creative mentoring. Named in the top five best actors in comedy (SuzyGoesSee 'Best of 2016'); Kate’s distinctiveness is her ability to create chemistry with an audience using humour with a profound impact. She is committed to develop her work into national/global collaborations as a way to further evolve as a successful regionally based artist. Highlights; Highway of Lost Hearts + Mighty with Lingua Theatre, Bathurst (Dir; Adam Deusien 2018, 2021); Women On The Edge (podcast 2022); CreateNSW Regional Fellowship (2019). Fast Cars + Dirty Beats - community cultural development project about Wahluu/Mt.Panorama (2020-2023). Original works with Drew Fairley have toured nationally and internationally with sold out seasons. A board member with Theatre Network NSW, Kate delivered the State of The Sector Address Keynote in 2020 + 2022.
