Kay Nankervis

Kay Nankervis is an actor, broadcaster and emerging playwright. With BMEC-Local Stages support she’s had two plays produced: Sand Dwellers played BMEC’s mainstage while Assistance toured Bathurst and Forbes as part of a Central West Short Playwriting Festival. Kay has an MA in Creative Writing (screenwriting major), a BA (Communication) and will soon submit a PhD exploring issues affecting collaboration between non-Aboriginal and First Nations theatre-makers and communities. She has acted in Bathurst productions Holy Day, Darling I’m Sorry, Blithe Spirit and The Woman, at Sydney’s New Theatre in Pacific Union and at Drama Studio London in Romeo & Juliet (at Bear Gardens), Top Girls, Macbeth, Three Sisters, Comedy of Errors, Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Rainmaker, Aladdin, Man o’ Mode and The Possibilities, and in Australian feature film Orange Love Story. Her most recent creative joy was as a workshop actor for the joint BMEC-Joan Routes play-making project.
