Margaret Aitken is a Poet/Playwright, originally from Launceston, Tasmania. Currently studying a Bachelors of Theatre Media at Charles Sturt University, she has over ten years of theatre experience. In 2018, Margaret Aitken was invited to shadow a playwright as part of the Mudlark Theatre event One Day Fifteen, and was also invited to attend Hobart’s Blue Cow Theatre event, “Future Proofing The Page” a five day workshop for emerging writers. With a background in Slam Poetry she won multiple awards in the Launceston Competitions and was runner up for the National What Matters? Prize for her age division. Inspired by people like Melanie Tait and Nakkiah Lui, Margaret hopes to someday be a professional playwright.
